14 Day Challenge is a campaign aimed at raising awareness through communities to tackle plastic pollution. They believe that through small actions we can achieve big change.
At this moment from the 8.3 billion tons of plastic created a year only 7% is recycled. At this rate by 2050 there will be more plastic than fish in the sea, however by raising awareness of the harsh realities of plastic pollution and involving the community, 14 Day Challenge believes we can slow this down.
Their plan involves a scratch-off poster revealing tips and tricks in order to become more environmentally responsible over 14 days, hence the name. These involve ones such as, using compostable bags, use reusable eating utensils when eating out or simply choosing glass over plastic when having a drink. By dedicating a whole month to raise awareness for the damages caused by plastic pollution, the 14 Day Challenge believes we can drastically slow down the degradation of our planet.
